Story #1608

When I came out as bisexual it was to a pansexual friend instead of my best friend because she was more trustworthy and she was part of LGBTQ+. She took it well as expected. A week later I told my best friend; he also, which I thank the world for, took it awesomely but as always teased me! He came out as bisexual a week later to me. This made me happy because little does he know I like him. (M/Bisexual)

Story #1607

When I came out I was on video chat to my parents. I came out as bi to my mum about 6 months prior, but came out to my stepdad last week. He took it very badly and doesn’t accept it. My mum does, though. My dad doesn’t know yet, but all my friends do.

Story #1606

When I came out, my parents flipped out. I was told it was a phase, I was too young, I had no idea what I was talking about, and it really hurt. But we’ve talked so much more in the past few months, and my mom is really trying to understand. We’ve been to an event down in Provo, she’s begun letting me go to GSIA meetings, and has even considered letting me cut my hair. When I first came out, I truly regretted it — but I don’t anymore.

Story #1605

When I came out I had a very good experience. I’m a divorced guy who came out late in life. I posted it on Facebook! I was terrified about what the response would be but I had at least 18 people contact me and tell me how proud they were of me.

Story #1604

When I came out to my parents they were completely mad and disappointed. They are now always ready to yell at me. A few years later I came out to my friend and she accepted me just for who I was. It’s been hard but I am a lesbian and no amount of yelling can change that.

Story #1603

When I came out to my mom, she said she was okay with it and that she suspected it anyway. Despite that, I feel regretful for telling her. I don’t know why. (M/17/Gay)

Story #1602

When I came out, it wasn’t really a coming out. I thought I was bisexual, and I bought a pride bracelet. My mom flat out asked me if I was gay. I denied it but later confessed to having dated a girl. My mom doesn’t think bisexuals exist.

Story #1601

When I came out, I cried. I had a panic attack. They told me it was just a phase and that I’m only 15 years old, that I shouldn’t be worrying about it. I hate myself for coming out to them. I’m so sorry I had to be this way, Mom and Dad.

Story #1600

When I came out as lesbian, my best guy friend told me he had feelings for me. I rejected it and he was pretty upset. I really miss him and I don’t know how to fix this. I don’t know if I’ll find a way. (F/19/Lesbian)

Story #1599

When I came out to my mother and father most of my friends already knew. I told my parents separately. My mother said that I was going to hell and grounded me and my dad said that he didn’t accept. They keep on taking me to priests and pastors trying to change me. I hope it gets better soon. (M/15/Gay)
