Story #754

When I came out at school people didn’t believe me but when I dated the only other gay guy at school people took me seriously. There are people who make jokes but I am happy that there are people who accept me. My parents know but I haven’t told them. Every time I get close I chicken out. But I am happy that there are people who accept gays and who aren’t afraid to take all the hate that comes with it.

Story #753

When I came out, I first told my parents. I know that they are usually the last people that someone comes out to, but my parents seem cool with everything. They were completely ok with me being gay, but every once in a while they will ask me, “Are you still gay?” Every time I respond with “I’m as straight as a circle.”

Story #752

When I came out, I was talking to my mom about my little sister (who’s 10) being forced to be sexualized so early on. I admitted that I’d never had a crush “on a boy” even though I’m in high school, then blurted out there have been girls. She said she was happy for me and glad I wouldn’t accidentally get pregnant, and that “it all made so much sense now.” It was a lot easier than people make it out to be and to be honest a little anticlimactic, in a good way.

Story #751

When I came out, my dad said that he knew from the time that I was four that I would be gay. He said that he was proud of me because “boys were gross” and thought my girlfriend was absolutely beautiful.

Story #750

When I came out to my best friend today she was not really surprised. I had a feeling I was a little obvious but she just was happy for me and I will always love her. I am a 16-year-old guy but I’m still afraid of coming out to my parents.

Story #747

When I came out, I was talking to my mom about people being accepting of gays. Then, I proceeded to ask her if she knew anyone in the family that was gay. She told me my sister dated a girl when she was in 7th grade, which was new information to me. She then asked what I was. I replied with “I like girls but I am still figuring it all out.” I am a 14-year-old girl.

Story #748

When I came out to my best friend, he said he loved me unconditionally. When I came out to my sister, she said she was keeping her children from me. When I came out to my mom, she ignored me. And still is doing so. I’m scared to tell anyone else that I’m trans.

Story #746

When I came out, I didn’t know I was coming out. I was in 4th grade, and I told my mom, “I think this boy is cute.” This year she told me she knew I was gay. That was a bit of a shock to me. I still don’t like to talk about it.

Story #745

When I came out as bi to my best friend, she said she had known all along and gave me a big hug. I felt so supported and loved. I am still afraid that my parents won’t believe me, so I am waiting until I get a girlfriend to tell them. I am a 14-year-old female.
