When I came out to my mum, her first words were “I’m so disappointed in you.” I chuckled, thinking she was kidding. She wasn’t. Over one month since then and she still hasn’t spoken to me.
Story #764
When I came out earlier today, I was a nervous wreck. It was diversity day and we had to use 10 labels for ourselves, and I included “lesbian.” I was shaking when I said it the first time. Everyone was pretty accepting, I still feel like I just imagined the whole thing.
Story #762
When I came out to my mum, I said, “I need to tell you something big.” She asked if it was a girl and I said, “It’s quite the opposite, I think I’m bi.” She was really supportive and said that nothing could ever change her love for me. She’s the best.
Story #761
When I came out as bisexual it was backstage of a class fundraiser play thingy… My best friend was telling my other best friend about how she was bi (I already knew) and I told both of them I was too. Later that night the other best friend told us she is a lesbain and our guy BFF said he is bi too! I guess we are the queer squad! I haven’t told my parents yet though…
Story #760
When I came out I was 16 and very depressed and insanely scared of my family’s reactions. They didn’t accept it and my mom didn’t talk to me for 6 months. Now I’m 19 and they’re slowly getting there, by avoiding all together.
Story #758
When I came out as bi my girlfriend left me. She said couldn’t be with a guy who had been with other men, which is understandable I guess. My friends were amazing though! Some were shocked, some said they already had an idea that I was. They thanked me for telling them, said I was brave to do so, and then we went to the pub.
Story #759
When I came out as bi it was to my best friend by text as I was too scared to tell her in person. She was so loving and accepting and said that she had actually suspected for a while. I haven’t told anyone else; my dad is very homophobic and doesn’t believe bisexuality is real but knowing that my friend knows and loves me for who I am is enough for now and gives me confidence that soon I’ll be able to tell others.
Story #756
When I came out to my best friend, she said she was jealous of me because I could be close to the boy I love, even if he is straight. I still haven’t told him because I’m afraid our friendship will come to an end.
Story #757
When I came out I told my sister I was gay first over the phone because she’s at college right now. She told me how proud she was of me to be brave enough to tell her that. She’s going to be back home in a week and she said she will help me come out to our Mom. 🙂
Story #755
When I came out, my parents were nagging me about teen pregnancy because my aunt got pregnant at 18. After about 10 minutes of discussing it, I was very mad at them because no matter how many times I said I wasn’t going to get pregnant they didn’t believe me. I finally said, “I’m a Lesbian! I am never going to get pregnant!” They were both shocked, but accepted me.
