When I Came Out

When I came out, I told my older sister who was at college through text and then had a 2-hour phone conversation with her about it later. I can tell that she is uncomfortable with it, but she still loves and accepts me. I’ve also told 4 close friends, a man from my church that I deeply trust, and now my little sister. I’ve gotten nothing but love and support and I’m very grateful.

When I came out it was first to my brother at 1 o’clock New Year’s Day. He was very supportive so I then told my two closest friends. They were both fine with it but my best friend told me I shouldn’t tell my parents because it might be a phase. I was about to tell them but now I don’t know….. :/

When I came out it was right after a recent breakup when my mom asked me what was wrong, and I told her my girlfriend had broken up with me. A few months later, I’m dating my beautiful best friend who helped me through that breakup. We’re happy, but rumors have been spreading about us lately and not in the good way. She recently told her parents, and they tried to convince her that she wasn’t actually into girls… it’s a bit of a 50/50 situation…

When I came out to my brother last spring, I went into his bedroom and he sat with me on his bed as I blurted out, “I’m not straight.” He asked if I liked girls and I nodded and started crying but he hugged me tight and said it’s completely okay. I’ve told all my close friends but not my parents…

When I came out, I was 13, last year, at a camp organised by my school. I told a girl I’d never met, and we are now best friends. Then, that night I told my best friend of 3 years. He said, “Ok, cool story bro. Now, are you imperial or storm cloak?”

When I came out I just hopped out of the shower feeling very refreshed. I checked my texts and my gay friend was talking to me. We had our usual political conversation, which lead to sexuality. I told him and I cried myself to sleep that night. All my friends know now (4 months later), but I’m super scared to tell my super conservative parents.

When I came out, I was drawing sexuality flags and I was explaining which flags were which and I got asked by my uncle which one I am and I pointed to the bisexuality flag. I couldn’t stop shaking when I pointed and afterwards he says, “I knew you were different” and I started crying and he hugs me and says, “I’m proud of you for coming out” ❤

When I came out as bi, I only told my long-distance partner, brother, a friend, and all my friends on social media. They’re all accepting. But my parents are homophobes. I haven’t told them. Especially since my dad made a comment about “them forcing the gay agenda onto us” after we saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. It broke my heart, knowing I can’t tell them.

When I came out, I had invited my best friend to come clubbing… This being a gay club I decided to pull her away from my other friends and blurted it out. I then realised I had no reason to be afraid as she was so supportive and gave me a big hug telling me she loved me and then she even helped me pick up the most gorgeous girl there that night by pushing me to go up and speak to her.

When I came out, I was walking with my best friend. I had already told her the day before that I had something important to say, but I couldn’t make myself say it. Finally, before she had to go, I turned to her and told it. She didn’t have anything against it, but I think it came as a little shock to her. I still haven’t told my parents or anyone else…
