When I came out as trans to my close friends (who all took it very well), I decided yesterday that I needed to then come out to bigger community and I wanted it to be my band section (go saxes!!). On the group’s Facebook, I came out and told them that I’m still me and just opening up more to them. Once I started to read the comments, I burst into tears immediately; they were all so supportive and proud of me and I couldn’t have had a greater experience. I can’t wait to tell everyone one day without feeling like I need to hide anymore.
