When I came out it was to my mother on my 16th birthday. I had already come out to friends but was worried about my family. We were driving home from getting my Learner’s driving licence and I had passed. I knew we would both be happy after I took my test so I planned to finally tell her after 2 1/2 years of knowing it myself. She was completely fine with it and I think our relationship is a lot stronger now.
