Story #1427

When I came out it was to my boyfriend of eight and a half years. I told him I’m pansexual. He accepts this and it doesn’t affect our relationship, because we love each other. I felt obliged to be honest to myself and him — that’s why I told him. The funny fact about it is — I only realised I was pansexual two and a half years ago. It was during an introspective moment with myself lol I have these moments often 🙂 I realised I love my partner, not because he’s a man – but because of his personality, temperament, humour, strong moral values and good nature 🙂

Story #1421

When I came out to my parents, I was almost disappointed at their lack of reaction, as selfish as that sounds. Now, after reading about so many bad reactions, I’m thankful they accepted me. I was googling pride flags, my mom asked why, and I said, “Well, I mean, I’m bi” and she went silent for a moment. The only thing my dad said was “OK, be careful.” (F/14/Bi?/pan?)

Story #1383

When I came out at 14, my mom said it was just a phase. A few months later after suffering a sexual tragedy against myself from a male, my mom asked me if I was straight. She was already disappointed in what had happened this summer and disappointed in my sexuality so I lied and told her I was. To this day, I haven’t tried to come out again. (F/17/Pan/demisexual)

Story #1374

When I came out to my best friend today I was shaking and could barely speak but after I’d managed to finish the sentence and after I’d explained to her what pansexuality is because she had no clue, she ended up being really supportive even though she’s quite religious. I am so relieved. I can’t believe that I went through two whole years of trying to tell her when her reaction is so positive!

Story #1368

When I came out I didn’t really do it. A classmate opened my phone up and read stuff that involved me being bisexual/pansexual and Ftm… Told the whole class. None of them would talk to me afterwards but I kept my close friends thankfully and my parents are okay with it but scared to tell the rest of my family.

Story #1361

When I came out, I made a speech for my english final. I presented it today and during the middle of it I started crying. After I said what I was, everything was silent and some people were crying with me. I sat back down and everything felt a lot better. I am still not out to my family though. (M/15/Pansexual)

Story #1338

When I came out to my friends, one after the other told me, “…Yeah. We knew.” with a couple of “OH REALLY?” I guess after 23 years I just couldn’t leave The Pan in the kitchen any longer.

Story #1331

When I came out as bisexual (later pansexual on Facebook) my mom was decently accepting. Recently she has admitted she didn’t think same-sex marriage was sacred. My dad is more supportive of my sexuality (though it took a bit of explaining). (F/23/Pansexual)

Story #1270

When I came out, it was on a piece of paper. I had one of my little siblings give it to my parents. My parents then had a talk with me, expressing their total support. It was so great to finally stop keeping my sexuality a secret!! (13/Pansexual)

Story #1262

When I came out to my boyfriend, he dumped me but then came running back minutes later. “I realized I was stupid. Um… will you go out with me again?” I laughed it off and we are still together. (F/19/Pan)
