Story #1254

When I came out to my friend (about 30 minutes ago), she had just told me that she thought it was perfectly fine to be LGBT. No one else that I know of thinks this way. She hugged me and bought me ice cream. Maybe coming out isn’t such a bad idea…? (F/15/Bisexual)

Story #1253

When I came out to my mother at age 12, I texted her a long paragraph while she was at work. She texted back saying she would talk about it later, and then during the talk she confessed to being with a girl for 9 months. Long story short, she teases me about every girl I met and told everyone in the family I am a lesbian. Couldn’t have had a more accepting family to support me. (15/Lesbian)

Story #1247

When I came out, it was over text to my best friend. She was supportive, so now a few months later I told my other friend, who also came out to me as bisexual. (F/13/Bisexual)

Story #1239

When I came out, I was 26 and married with 2 kids. My husband freaked, as expected, but the relief I had was so great! Now I am learning just what it is to be a lesbian lady!

Story #1238

When I came out to my best friend was the happiest moment of my life. I just went for it, no hesitation, and said, “I’m gay, you know.” She laughed and hugged me and said she’d known for years. She then came out to me as demisexual and we’ve been dating ever since. (17/Lesbian)

Story #1233

When I came out to a close friend, I told her I thought I might be bisexual. She got really quiet and later told me she hoped it was “just a phase.” Turns out (for me) it was. I’m actually a lesbian and have no idea how to bring up this subject again.

Story #1231

When I came out at a summer camp, I was the only lesbian around. All my friends distanced themselves from me because they think that absolutely every lesbian in the world only comes out to the people they like. It was sad, and I didn’t know of it until my roommate told me. Now I’m probably going to stay in the closet for a long time.

Story #1229

When I came out as bisexual to my best friend on Facebook messenger, she said that she already knew and she started to cry and ended up telling me she was lesbian #bestfriendgoals! We now are going out (F/13/Bisexual)

Story #1228

When I came out my mom had put a movie and a couple bags of gummi bears (which’re my favorite) on my dresser while I slept. Inside the bags she wrote a note that said, “If you ever have anything to tell me, I’m here. Love, Mom.” I went into her room crying and said, “Mommy, I’m gay.” She hugged me and said she was glad I finally could say it to her and that she always knew inside about me being a lesbian and that she loved me no matter what. (F/14)

Story #1225

When I came out as lesbian, my mom started crying. I asked her why she was crying, and she told me she always wanted grandchildren. I solemnly whispered, “There are children out there without families. I’ll adopt them and you’ll have your grandchildren.”
