Bisexual Coming Out Stories

When I came out to my friends one of them said, “Me too” and another ran away laughing at me. Now she says, “People who like the same gender are stupid,” and another one said, “OHHHH” and the other day one of the friends I came out to went up to my new friend and said, “[My name] is bisexual” and my new friend said, “No she’s not” and laughed… (F/11/Bisexual)

When I came out to my best friend during science class she just said she didn’t care and I was still the same person. Still haven’t told anyone else. (F/Bi)

When I came out, it was bisexuality awareness day of 2017 and I told my mom to guess what day it was. She couldn’t guess so I said that it’s the day that people acknowledge that I exist! We then had a talk about it, while driving to see a play, and she was super accepting, saying that she was glad I was comfortable with myself. (F/14)

When I came out, I was at the park with my friends (two boys, one girl) and they asked who I liked. I told them they were looking in the wrong gender, and what her name was. They got the message 🙂 (F/Bi)

When I came out I didn’t want to hide it anymore with my mom. Unfortunately, I’m 24 and live with her but I knew I didn’t want to hide my girlfriend anymore. I am proud of my girl and our relationship. Long story short, I decided to immediately search for a new place to live and am moving in with my girlfriend in a month. I am the happiest I’ve ever been and am so excited to live with the love of my life and start out next chapter together; my mom will come around in time I hope. (JB, Bi)

When I finally came out to my mum about 2 hours ago, she seemed somewhat accepting but a bit funny about it. I know no one else from my family or school who is (openly) from the LGBTQ+ community so this was a big step for me. But I’m glad to have finally gotten it off my shoulders. (F/15/Bi)

When I came out as bisexual to my two best friends, I texted them and that’s the only way I could do it. They automatically explained that no matter what they will always love me. It went so well and even though my parents don’t know, it feels great to let my two closest friends know and have people who accept me for me 100%. (F/Bi)

When I came out to my mom I started crying so hard she thought I’d been raped and was afraid to tell her, so when she knew what was really going on she was relieved and said, “Really? that’s it? Why would I care LOL”. I love her. (F/17/Bisexual)
