When I came out to my best friend, we were at school and he was asking who I liked. He said, “So your crush, did he move away?” The bell rang and I was late, so I looked at him and said, “Not a he,” then ran to class. This was about four hours ago and he hasn’t said anything. I’ve seen him twice since I told him. 🙁 (F/13/Bi)
Story #1537
When I came out to my friends, we were joking around and taking those “Are you gay?” quizzes online at lunch and when my test results said I was bisexual I sighed and said, “Well, that was a waste of time, I already knew that.” It got quiet, then all my friends congratulated me, saying it was obvious, and we went back to eating lunch.
Story #1534
When I came out to my parents as bisexual, their initial response was “We’re here for you but we want to pray for your healing.” That’s the saddest story ever since we all know we can’t pray the gay away. Dream on, folks. Out and proud, 27. 🙂
Story #1533
When I came out as bisexual, I got so much love and support I didn’t expect! I wrote up a Facebook post, posted it, and watched as friend after friend commented and liked it, telling me they were happy for me. It made my day.
Story #1532
When I came out to my best friend as bisexual, I was freaked out. I couldn’t say it out loud, so I had to write it on a piece of paper and gave it to her. She laughed at first, then told me that she already knew and that it was kinda obvious (at least to her). She has been very supportive since, and doesn’t care at all. (F/18, France)
Story #1525
When I came out to my best friend I was too scared to do it in person so I texted him a picture of the girl I had a crush on and said, “shes hot”. He responded with “d8?” and I proceeded by telling him how she was probably straight and how I always ended up liking straight girls. A couple weeks later he asked me if I was bisexual and I said yes.
Story #1522
When I came out to my brother a few months ago, we were so drunk at a club. I was dancing with a guy. He asked me if I was bisexual, and I told him, “Uh, yeah.” We went home and he cried because I didn’t tell him before. Also he said that he will never accept me as gay. I really don’t care. (M/22, Panamá)
Story #1521
When I came out to my two best friends they were super accepting and just carried on completely normal. They support me fully and are helping me coming out to my parents and others. No regrets! (M/13/Bisexual)
Story #1520
When I came out, it was an accident. I wrote it on the bathroom mirror to help me feel better about myself, and my mom saw it. She was supportive. (F/Bisexual)
Story #1515
When I came out to my best friend, she didn’t believe me. I’m very discouraged because she was the first person I came out to. She thinks I am joking. (12/Bisexual)
