Story #1140

When I came out to my friend’s mom, we were sitting in her car while my friend was asleep in the back. What I didn’t know is that she already knew I was lesbian, and she told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. Now I did an awesome painting so I can remember that night.

Story #1139

When I came out to one of my best friends, I thought she was going to step out of the car. Instead, she looked at me and said, “I’m going to be honest–I don’t understand, but I want to be able to”. That was the best response I had ever received in coming out to someone.

Story #1138

When I came out it was a couple of minutes ago. So I’m in school right now and I told one of my closest friends that I knew would accept me. She said everything was going to be the same and nothing will change. I love her so much!

Story #1136

When I came out to 4 of my closest friends over a group chat, I thought they wouldn’t hang out with me because they are all very Christian. They all said they already knew because another friend who I had already told told them, and 2 of them were also part of the LGBT community. Now I have stopped hanging out with the friend who spilled my secret and am currently in a happy relationship with one of my friends.

Story #1137

When I came out, it was to everyone except my family because I’ve found that strangers are more accepting than my own family. I am too afraid to tell my mom because she says a lot of homophobic stuff.

Story #1135

When I came out, me and my best friend had just finished eating lunch at high school. I was still very much in the closet, and I told her that I liked someone. After about 5 minutes of guessing, I told her it was someone that you know, but she didn’t know any boys and she asked me if it was a girl. I said yes, and I aced my test the next hour.

Story #1134

When I came out it was because I was asking my friend for her friend’s correct pronouns. She said she never met a straight guy who cares about transgender pronouns and asked if I was gay.

Story #1133

When I came out I had been planning to tell my friend for weeks, but kept having a panic attack and backing out whenever it came up. I finally blurted it out to her today and she smiled and said she supported me and was proud of me. All that anxiety for nothing!!

Story #1132

When I came out I was on a bus with my grade on our way to the airport. I was sitting with two of my best friends that already knew. I posted it on Instagram and asked one of them to yell across the bus telling everyone to check their phones. I got nothing but support, and a few people told me that they had suspected it since fifth grade! (Lesbian, 14)

Story #1131

When I came out (yesterday), I expected my mom to fully accept me as I was. Instead she told me that I was confused and that I shouldn’t say anyone that I’m gay because no one would accept me. She even suggested for me to date girls and try to be straight. It hurts to know she thinks that way.
