Story #1146

When I came out, I was up late at night, thinking through it and before I knew it, I posted my coming out on Facebook and Twitter. I cried the whole night, talking to friends and family. I’ve only gotten positive responses, which surprised me because my whole family is religious, except for me.

Story #1145

When I decided to come out I emailed my mom. She called me into the kitchen and I broke down in tears. She later spoke to my dad and told me that it doesn’t matter I’m gay and she still loves me for who I am. 🙂

Story #1144

When I came out, my friends all fully accepted me. A while later, I got my first girlfriend. Her parents found out about us and told my parents. My mom was okay with it but my dad completely shut me out. My girlfriend and I are still together despite what they say, and I won’t see her until school starts again. But hey, I have to stand up for who I am and who I love.

Story #1143

When I came out to my friends, I was so nervous I almost puked. I was out as “bicurious” already, but “lesbian” just felt much more serious and final. When I finally spit it out, they all told me they loved and support me no matter what– worth it!

Story #1142

When I came out to my best friend, who I liked, I told her I was lesbian. She said she was questioning, so I did mini backflips in my head. Turns out she’s straight and I’m gay, and though she says she accepts me, she doesn’t treat me the same as before. Though it’s hard, you can get through this, and you will find people who accept you unconditionally.

Story #1141

When I came out it was to my cousin and my best friend. My best friend was very surprised but she accepts me now and my cousin said that she loves me no matter what. I’m not out to my Muslim parents yet because I know they’ll react badly…

Story #1140

When I came out to my friend’s mom, we were sitting in her car while my friend was asleep in the back. What I didn’t know is that she already knew I was lesbian, and she told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. Now I did an awesome painting so I can remember that night.

Story #1139

When I came out to one of my best friends, I thought she was going to step out of the car. Instead, she looked at me and said, “I’m going to be honest–I don’t understand, but I want to be able to”. That was the best response I had ever received in coming out to someone.

Story #1138

When I came out it was a couple of minutes ago. So I’m in school right now and I told one of my closest friends that I knew would accept me. She said everything was going to be the same and nothing will change. I love her so much!

Story #1136

When I came out to 4 of my closest friends over a group chat, I thought they wouldn’t hang out with me because they are all very Christian. They all said they already knew because another friend who I had already told told them, and 2 of them were also part of the LGBT community. Now I have stopped hanging out with the friend who spilled my secret and am currently in a happy relationship with one of my friends.
