Story #1454

When I came out to my roommates, I asked them if they knew anyone who was homophobic. I knew they weren’t but just wanted to steer the conversation in that direction so it wouldn’t be so random when I finally told them. They said no and asked me if I knew anyone who was and I said, “I hope not because I’m bi.” I must’ve caught them off guard or said it super quietly because they asked me again, so I repeated myself. They just said, “Okay” and proceeded to talk about why McDonald’s fries are the best.

Story #1453

When I came out I left my parents a note in front of their door, knocked, and hid in the bathroom. My dad read the note out loud, found me, gave me a hug, and told me to clean my room.

Story #1452

When I came out it was not planned. I came out very, very young, like… 10 1/2. I came home from a Girl Scout trip to Sky Zone and I burst into tears. I was very nervous and I had known for a very long time so I just told them and they responded well. The next day I came out to my class and most responded well.

Story #1451

When I came out, I was at therapy. My mom was there with me. I was so nervous she got me a glass of water. After I said it, my mom told me she already knew. She would accept me, but I’m not allowed to transition until I move out. (FtM/13/Asexual)

Story #1450

When I came out to my best friend we were talking about a wedding she went to and I asked if she’d still be my maid of honor if I’d marry a girl. She looked a little confused but said, “Of course” and hugged me. Still have to come out to my parents though.

Story #1449

When I came out for the first time in real offline life, it was to my college friends. They were talking about how flamboyant some LGBT people are and they were getting kinda homophobic, so I got a bit angry and I just said, “Guys, but actually I’m gay…” When I realised what I just did, I started shaking, but they didn’t even care and they said that they understood not all of us were like that. I felt like I was freed from a really heavy weight. I still can’t believe it was that easy.

Story #1446

When I came out to 3 of my closest friends, I had tried to all lunch break but we were always surrounded by other people so I took two of them apart, along with two friends that already knew, and I just blurted out: “Guys, I’m not straight.” They were super chill with it and we discussed it very casually. I told the other friend when she joined us and she got super excited and came out as bi to me, and told me she knew at least 5 other LGBT people at our school. My week got gayer and gayer after that. Story #1448

When I came out I said, “O SKIP I LIKE BOYS” and then went on with my day and haven’t told anybody but it’s good that I came out to myself 🙂

Story #1445

When I came out to my friends I just casually mentioned it. However, my best friend casually mentioned that he was gay and the boy who had a crush on me found out why he never had a chance. Everybody took it very well and now we are just a bunch of queer best friends and I have never been happier.
