Story #1690

When I came out, it was in summer school and the principal called me to his office. I was really scared because I thought I was going to be in trouble but I went anyways. When I got there he was in there with the SCHOOL POLICE OFFICER. They said that somebody had told them that I was making fun of some girls because they were lesbian, and I said, “Why would I do that? I’m bisexual myself!” They just stared at me in awe. Later that day I had found out that they had called my mom and they had told her that I was bisexual. She looked at me and simply said, “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” (F/12)

Story #1689

When I came out it was to my dad on the ride with him to work. I wanted to wait until after so it wouldn’t be awkward while we worked but I knew that I would wuss out if I didn’t say it then. He was accepting and said he would always love me, but his personal views on homosexuality are upsetting. In the end I’m glad he still loves me, and our relationship is fine now. I can breathe easier around him. Only mom is left to tell, then I’m fully out. (M/17/Gay)

Story #1688

When I came out I was super scared and didn’t know how to tell my parents, so naturally I told my friends and they were all really supportive. I even told my crush who is FtM transgender, which all I got back was that he’s into guys so sucks for me lol but I ended up telling my parents and they were a little confused to what pansexual meant but they accepted me for who I was no matter what. I’m so glad I told them because now the weight is lifted off my shoulders and I’m free to be myself! (F/17/Pansexual)

Story #1687

When I came out, I came out to my BFF in 6th grade (last year) at an after-school party as bisexual. She was very supportive, in fact we’re even closer now. Now I drift between bisexual and pansexual; I’m also questioning my gender identity. I plan to come out to my other friends next week. I don’t plan to come out to my religious and homophobic parents anytime soon. (12/Bisexual/Pansexual/Gender Non-Conforming)

Story #1686

When I came out, I first told my best friend who was also my crush at the time. I knew she was gay and wouldn’t care if I came out. My parents forced me to come out to them and they told me that they already knew. (F/15/Lesbian)

Story #1685

When I came out, I was living with my cousin. I asked him what if I was bi. He said wouldn’t care and then said, “If you’re bi just say you’re bi.” I laughed and said I was bi. He hugged me and I cried. It was such a big relief. (M/16/Bisexual)

Story #1684

When I came out to my two friends at school that I was bi, one accepted but the other started acting cruel. She then got me in trouble cause she said I was forcing bisexuality on to her when I wasn’t. Guess she wasn’t a real friend. (F/12)

Story #1683

When I came out I was at a party that happened a week ago on Friday night. Around midnight, we got bored and played “suck and blow,” where you must suck paper and blow it to the next person. When it came to me, I passed it to the guy next to me and we were practically kissing except there was a paper between. He accidentally dropped the paper and we ended up kissing. Right after, I said, “Yeah, I like guys too.” (M/17/Bi)

Story #1682

When I came out it was to my dog. I know that sounds dumb, but it’s true. It took me courage to even tell my dog. I plan on telling my crush, who is also lesbian, sometime soon. Send good vibes! (F/12/Gay)

Story #1681

When I came out, I was in class one day and the teacher walked out of the room to go get something for our experiment. I just yelled out, “Hey guys, I have 83 protons!” (on the periodic table it’s bismuth or bi) and everyone kinda looked at me strange, then one kid goes, “She’s BI” and I just winked while everyone kinda stared at me. (F/14/Bi)
