When I came out my mom had put a movie and a couple bags of gummi bears (which’re my favorite) on my dresser while I slept. Inside the bags she wrote a note that said, “If you ever have anything to tell me, I’m here. Love, Mom.” I went into her room crying and said, “Mommy, I’m gay.” She hugged me and said she was glad I finally could say it to her and that she always knew inside about me being a lesbian and that she loved me no matter what.
