When I came out to one of my straight friends, she said,“That’s okay, a lot of people are nowadays.” Odd and slightly offensive, but she was accepting at least. Another friend came out to me as pan after a discussion at church about gay people so I came out to him and we promised to support each other. My parents are not being very accepting at the moment; they don’t understand my orientation and they want me to date, get married, and have kids, which isn’t really in the cards for me.
