Story #2747

When I came out two days ago, during pride month, it was just after my 27th birthday. I didn’t expect to. I’d been questioning whether I was bi or lesbian since 14. My mum asked if I wanted kids and I said, ‘Well, it’d be hard if I was with a woman…’ She asked if I was bi and I said, ‘No, queer or gay’. At that moment I thought, ‘Thank god, now I don’t have to date men anymore’ so I think I gave myself the answer. I haven’t had a relationship with a woman before but I don’t let that stop me from seeing myself as a lesbian. I know who I am, I always have. (Queer/27/Sapphic)
