When I came out it was to my 10-year-old daughter. What precipitated it was that she confessed to me that she had a crush on a female friend and was confused by her feelings. I explained to her that is natural to have same-sex attractions and when she asked how I knew, I told her that I am homosexual but I denied that part of myself until my late thirties.
