Story #974

When I came out it was to my biology teacher in high school when I was 17. He was a very sensitive man and had felt that something was “off”. So after class he asked me what’s wrong, and I broke down in tears. He was very supportive, telling me that it’s better to be real and authentic than in denial. A few weeks later I told my closest friends and they too were supportive except one (who turned out to have far greater problems herself with her own insecurities).
