When I came out I was a wreck. I was crying before I even said anything. My entire family was out at a lodge, some of them I hadn’t seen in 4+ years. I stood up on this bench and used my hands as a microphone and let everyone know that I was gay. A lot of my family didn’t accept me and told me I was in a phase and that I was a disappointment to them, but my mom and my sister were okay with it. (I live with them, so that worked out really great!!) Unfortunately, my dad left as soon as I said it and our relationship isn’t going to get better. /:
