When I came out, it was during church camp. During a group discussion with some of my close friends, everyone was telling secrets, and I said I had one. The words stuck in my throat and I couldn’t say it, but my best friend caught on and just yelled “GAYYYYYY” which broke the ice. I was accepted by every single person in the room, even the kid I was sure wasn’t going to.
