When I came out, it was to one of my friends on my way to school. I had promised myself that I would tell him before we got there. We were joking around and I realized how close we were to school, so I just blurted, “I’m gay.” As soon as I said it, I panicked and played it off as joke (he didn’t believe me anyway). I’m planning to tell my friends (and my parents) next week, I just need to gather enough courage.
