Story #2180

When I came out my sister came out to me! I’m gay and she’s asexual. It was nice to know but it also made me feel like I had to come out before she did. It’s ok to have mixed feelings upon coming out or having someone come out to you.

Story #2179

When I came out I knew my parents would accept me. So I just told them about how my friend assumed I liked her, and when my parents asked why I told them I liked girls. My mom said it didn’t matter and just told me I was too young for a relationship. It went really well. (F/11/Lesbian/gay)

Story #2178

When I came out I was really nervous, but it worked out ’cause like all my friends are LGBTQ+. I still need to come out to my parents. I tried to come out to my mom but she doesn’t understand. I hope to come out soon though. (FtM/14/Bi)

Story #2177

When I came out I came out to my friends over text. And I was so scared but they supported me. Now most of my friends are queer and we are all heterophobic 😌 but I still have to come out to my family but idk how (Questioning/13/Queer)

Story #2176

When I came out, I was already out to most of my school friends as gay, but then I started to question my gender and figured out I was agender. The first few people I came out to were accepting, but they all made a huge deal out of it (it’s just me??? call me by my name and pronouns as you would do anyone else???), and eventually, rumours started floating around the school as they had when I had come out to these same people as gay. This made me quite anxious as I felt that everyone knew my deepest secret. Later when I came out to my class, people kept deadnaming and mispronouning me, saying, ‘Same thing’ or ‘You know what I meant’. Later by the people in my class I got bullied (still am being bullied) and called an ‘it.’ And finally, was outed to a bunch of my teachers: When they called the roll and said my deadname (though I appreciate people learning my real name, it was super annoying) people in my class yelled out (some quite mockingly :((() ‘Actually, it’s *real name.*’ And as I’m not currently out to my mum, this was quite distressing as some of the teachers are friends with and talk with my mum often. 🙁 (Agender/non-binary/13/Aromantic/pansexual/demisexual)

Story #2175

When I came out as lesbian I told my best friend first and then she told me she was bi. So I told my family and close friends and they were all super supportive! I recently told my whole class and 4 more people came out to me. I am fully embracing myself and who I am and excited to keep sharing who I am with people! (F/13/Lesbian)

Story #2174

When I came out to my friend it was pretty dry, I just said, “I’m pan,” and she said, “k, I’m bi.” After that my friend dated A LOT of girls so I thought I should too, so I dated a really pretty girl for a while but we broke up at 3 months and I was super sad. I stayed single for a while but found another girlfriend at my school and we started dating. I didn’t tell my friend at first, and then randomly one day my friend texted me that she had a crush on me and I had to tell her that I already had a girlfriend, and she was really sad I didn’t tell her sooner. What should I do? (F/13/Pan)

Story #2173

When I came out to my brother’s mom (my half mom and favorite mom), we were on a walk by the zoo and I said, “I have to tell you something.” My 8-year-old brother, who already known at the time, immediately stood right by me and hugged me as I told her I like girls, and she said, “I’m so proud of you and I’ll always love you.” That’s my favorite coming out story (so far — this Saturday I’m coming out to my lesbian aunts). (F/13/Just gay)

Story #2172

When I came out I felt awkward. I had previously come out as asexual, only to realize I’m an aromantic lesbian. My mum guessed it, but I still feel like she doesn’t accept me. (F/14)
