When I came out as a lesbian to my best friend she said she already knew and was just waiting for me to tell her. She knew before I did… I was so surprised. She also says she wishes she knew people to set me up with so we can double date with her and her boyfriend.
Story #1019
When I came out it was to my best friend. I was really scared at first because we attended a Catholic school, but it turns out that my bff was a bisexual as well. We just went on our second date, and I’m happy.
Story #1018
When I came out to my dad, it was on accident. I co-own an lgbt account, and he looked over and saw it. I told him what I was, and he said, “Pansexuals don’t exist” and other rude stuff like that. I’m scared to come out to my other family members now, since they’re Catholics and homophobic.
Story #1017
When I came out I was 10. Now at 13 years old I am out to all my friends as a lesbian. My mom thinks I’m bisexual but I plan on telling her the truth very soon.
Story #1016
When I came out as Transgender and Bisexual to my parents, they outed me to the rest of my friends and family. They are very homophobic and feel as though it’s their fault that I ended up this way. I wish I could explain to them that I am the same person I always am, but it’s too hard to.
Story #1015
When I came out to my church, I wrote a letter and said, “I wanted to share these words written by a transgender Episcopalian.” I made it obvious in the last sentence I had wrote it and cried afterwards, but nobody in the entire church has told me I’m wrong or gross, and I’m grateful for true loving Christians.
Story #1014
When I came out to my best friend she was so supportive and still is. I told all my other friends and people close to me. In my family only my bro knows I’m bi/pan. My dad is pro-gay but my mom is slightly homophobic so I’m waiting till college to tell them.
Story #1013
When I came out it was to my buddy who was concerned about me because I had been depressed for quite a while. He sat me down and asked what was going on. I was so scared that my hands were sweating and my heart was pounding. I finally took a deep breathe and told him, “I’m Bi.” He proceeded to tell me I don’t care what you are, you are still you and I will always be your friend and support you.
Story #1012
When I came out to my best friend as demisexual at the age of 17, he just said, “I’m not sure what that is. Can you explain it?” He was totally cool with it, and when I explained I was sex-repulsed he just said, “I guess then it makes sense why you’re usually single. People try to pressure people into sex all the time.” He’s still my best friend and we still talk almost every day, two years later. I still haven’t told my parents and probably never will (they’re super homophobic) but at least someone accepts me.
Story #1010
When I came out as bi I had a hard time coming out to myself. When I came out to my best friend, all she said was “Okay. It doesn’t matter to me.” Turns out a lot of our other friends are LGBTQ+ too. Now, all of my close friends know I’m bi and one of them is now my girlfriend!
