When I came out I baked rainbow cupcakes for my family on National Coming Out Day. I wore my Beetlejuice costume for Halloween (which has black and white stripes like the heterosexual flag) and taped a rainbow flag to my shirt underneath. I was terrified, but looking back it was honestly so extra (I swear I’m not kidding — I had been waiting 3+ years to do it) and my parents are totally okay with it!
