When I came out, I just got home from school. A friend had asked me if I was gay, because I never talk about cute boys. I answered, “Yes.” So I opened the kitchen door and went like, “Hey, mom! I just told a girl I am a lesbian.” Her reaction made me realize that I hadn’t come out to her yet, which I thought I had. Her reaction was good though. (16)
