Story #1127

When I came out to my best friend he started laughing and said he already knew. My other best friend was shocked and couldn’t believe his ears. And my psychologist was disgusted. I am 22 now, alone and paranoid. I think my parents will kill me. Esspecially my mentally ill sister who hates the gays.

Story #1126

When I came out as a bisexual to my parents, it was because of my hair. I used to have naturally long red hair, but I wanted to cut it short and dye it blonde. I told my mom this, and she looked to me and said, “Is this because you’re gay?” It was definitely awkward, but I’m glad I came out…

Story #1125

When I came out, I did it because I wanted to be myself and stop hiding. Now I’m out but my behaviour hasn’t changed – I for example still feel the need to say a guy is hot if all my friends think he is. (18, Female, Gay)

Story #1124

When I came out to my mom she just laughed at me and told me I wasn’t lesbian, then just walked off. Pretty sure she was in complete denial but 2 years on I have a girlfriend, so now I just gotta shove that in my mom’s face over dinner tomorrow night. Woohoo!

Story #1123

When I came out as pansexual, it was to my four closest friends and my grandpa. They were all very supportive, and I even found out that two of my friends were also pansexual. Now I’m just waiting for the right time to come out to the rest of my family, which I believe they will be fine with it.

Story #1122

When I came out it was the first day of 2016. I told my aunty and she started hitting me. To this day I shall never tell anyone else I’m gay. It hurts to think that you are a mistake.

Story #1121

When I came out as trans to my close friends (who all took it very well), I decided yesterday that I needed to then come out to bigger community and I wanted it to be my band section (go saxes!!). On the group’s Facebook, I came out and told them that I’m still me and just opening up more to them. Once I started to read the comments, I burst into tears immediately; they were all so supportive and proud of me and I couldn’t have had a greater experience. I can’t wait to tell everyone one day without feeling like I need to hide anymore.

Story #1120

When I came out to my best friend as bisexual, I asked her if we could just talk for a minute. She looked me dead in the eyes and said, “Are you bi?” I almost started crying and then she said, “Finally, you’ve been dropping hints for the last month…” I think it went pretty well…

Story #1119

When I came out, I told one of my lesbian friends and I asked her how she came out to her parents she said she didn’t and that kinda freaked me out. I still haven’t told my parents because I’m afraid that my dad will disown me; he’s a relatively religious Christian. Does being bi make God hate me? Because I’m still religious too…

Story #1118

When I came out, it was in a very religious neighborhood and I was 15. All of my close friends abandoned me, and my mother thought I was confused. I hope things will get better, but I doubt they will.
