When I came out, I was talking to my mom about people being accepting of gays. Then, I proceeded to ask her if she knew anyone in the family that was gay. She told me my sister dated a girl when she was in 7th grade, which was new information to me. She then asked what I was. I replied with “I like girls but I am still figuring it all out.” I am a 14-year-old girl.
